From Sue & My Departure

From Sue: Mar. 31st PTL!!! Ernie's CT scan showed some air in his chest... Dr. thinks with more a activity this will clear.

Dr. Villaneuve, Thorasics was in to talk about the pros...with more cons...of putting a feeding tube in the small intestine. Ernie mentioned that the Gastroentrologist said his small intestine was hardened from the scleroderma, why they have been feeding him through the main artery. Dr. said this can be considered at a later date. Ernie said, "Yes, he would like to heal from all the surgeries first".

Praise the LORD for the Blood of JESUS!!! They were scheduled to give him hemoglobin this morning. Toward noon time, Nurse said his levels went from 77 -78, which means the blood cells were healing themself.

Physio was in and took Ernie for a walk "around the block & down the hall to waiting room. He has certainly improved, his steps use to be tiny faltering steps. Discharge seems to be based on the Physio recommendations if Ernie is able to transfer out of bed, climb stairs, etc, without using his arms and straining on chest cavity. Wow, we got another visit for more practise with transfers. I also asked for a walker to take him for his walks as Physio does not work on weekends...and nursing staff thought he was too frail last weekend.

We hope he is discharged on Monday...we will be taking Recovery Classes on Sunday, Social Services will come to talk about CCAC visits.

Saturday is my last night at Cousin Deb's Guest-room Condo... VERY Reasonable rate...Thank you Deb for EVERYTHING you helped us with... especially your shoulder to cry on!!!

My Daanis is heading back to work for the weekend. Much thanks to her Supervisor for being compassionate & caring. We sure have been on a roller coaster ride together... full of hope & dispair. Through it ALL, we encouraged one another to keep our eyes stayed on JESUS.
